Jackie Allen - Education and Outreach Officer

Jackie Allen is Education and Outreach Officer for Milton Keynes City Orchestra. She is an experienced project manager having previously worked managing projects for Bucks Dance, MK Arts for Health and Interaction. She also spent time as Arts Development Officer for South Northants District Council overseeing and developing arts activity for District. She brings substantial experience to the role with particular success at engaging with local communities in the ‘hard to reach’ areas and understanding what it takes to make a project work.

She is also a musician specialising in traditional folk and roots material from the UK and beyond. She performs and teaches regularly at festivals in the UK and has made several recordings. She is a trained Project Leader and Animatuer having been selected and trained by ‘TAPS’s (Traditional Arts Projects) to devise and deliver projects working with artists from different cultural backgrounds and using traditional material as the stimulus to devise and create projects with a truly multi-cultural feel.
